When parents are getting old they required help even for the smallest tasks. They have to depend on their children or a person who takes care of them.

There are lots of challenges that comes while taking care of elderly parents. These challenges are not just emotional, where you have to ensure your parents are comfortable, but can also be of a financial nature, where you need to ensure that you are able to give the right home health care at the right time.

Here is the list of issues that individuals may have to face while caring for elderly parents.

1. Assist with Daily Tasks: As the parents reach the age of 70, they are unable to take care of themselves and doing their daily activities like cleaning the house, cooking, bathing, transportation, medical issues, and more.

2. Quality of life: Providing a good quality of life is very important for elderly parents. Only providing health care is not sufficient, we need to provide emotional support to them as well. But if the children are busy with their work or stay away from seniors, it is difficult to spend some quality time with old parents. This loneliness can cause depression and anxiety in elders.

3. Ensure their Safety: It is not possible for children to spend full time with elderly parents and old parents need assistance at every step. Hence, children need to ensure that they are taking care of elderly parents at home while providing them with a safe and secure living environment.

4. Financial Support: After the age of 60, mostly elder parents retired and they have lost their permanent source of income. They have to rely on their savings and pension. They require financial support from their children. Due to the lack of timing, working children are also unable to take care of their parent’s financial affairs.
